Outline

There has been momentum of implementing earthquake forecasts in the society for disaster mitigation. Specifically, dissemination scheme of advisory or alert information on possible earthquake threats, although so far restricted earthquake targets such as aftershocks or great earthquakes, has already been in operation in some countries including Japan, US, and New Zealand. In this session, we invite speakers from academia, governmental, and private sectors to share the knowledge on the state-of-the-art science on earthquake forecasting, installation of measurement infrastructures, and discuss possible pathways to promote implementation of earthquake forecasting in the society. The presentations will be followed by a panel discussion.
