Outline
In April 2022, the Japanese government emphasized in its science and technology development policy to promote the fusion of knowledge in the humanities, social, and natural sciences. This contributes to improving a comprehensive understanding and problem-solving of humans and society by applying “convergence of knowledge” that integrates all “knowledge” including humanity, social, and natural sciences, and indicates the necessity and the future direction of the “convergence of knowledge.” The main theme of this session is “What is the convergence of knowledge?” and “How could we enhance disaster resilience through the convergence of knowledge?”. Therefore, this session with keynotes and reports on collaborative research with National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Resilience (NIED) provides an opportunity to explore and apply the “convergence of knowledge in disaster science.”
