Let's Learn About Disaster Memorial Facilities

Our organization has created maps introducing numerous Disaster Memorial Facilities in the four affected prefectures (Aomori, Iwate, Miyagi, and Fukushima). The "3.11 Densho Road Map" highlights facilities across all four prefectures, while the "3.11 Densho Road Illustrated Map" focuses on each prefecture, including tourist attractions and local specialties, showcasing the unique charm of each area.

Information In disaster-affected areas, monuments and facilities convey lessons from the Great East Japan Earthquake and past disasters. The "Disaster Memorial Network Council," including affected prefectures, Sendai City, and national agencies, registers these as "Disaster Memorial Facilities" and connects them through maps and signage.
The "3.11 Densho Road" refers to activities that utilize this network to carry out various initiatives and projects related to disaster prevention. Guided by the principle "Lessons save lives," the 3.11 Densho Road Promotion Organization shares disaster experiences to enhance disaster preparedness and revitalize affected areas.
