Outline
In this session, we will focus on the mediating function that local academic research institutions can play in the process of disaster recovery and disaster prevention education, in terms of mutual understanding and consensus building between local residents and external actors, based on the results of research conducted in Indonesia, a country that has frequently suffered disasters since the beginning of the 21st century (Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research “Towards the Utilization of the Mediating Function of Local Academic Research Institutions in Disaster Recovery in Indonesia”). we will make policy recommendations for the social implementation of the mediation function that local academic research institutions can play a key role in, based on case reports from local research collaborators (researchers affiliated with Syakura University and the National Research and Innovation Agency of Indonesia).
