Call for Chapters for Case Analysis: State of Art Policy and Practice of Emerging Technologies in Enhancing Resilience
Dear partners and colleagues,
The increasing complexity and frequency of disasters, exacerbated by climate change, necessitates the adoption of innovative solutions to enhance disaster risk reduction (DRR) efforts. Technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), satellite-based systems, advanced data analytics, and next-generation telecommunications, offer transformative potential in strengthening disaster preparedness, response, and resilience. However, while many technological innovations are being developed and piloted, there is a significant gap in systematically documenting and sharing best practices on their application in DRR. Countries and institutions vary widely in their absorptive capacity, access to resources, and regulatory frameworks for integrating these technologies.
UNDRR by working with partners would like to aim at producing a publication/compendium on State of Art Policy and Practice of Emerging Technologies in Enhancing Resilience which will serve as a valuable knowledge resource for governments, DRR institutions, private sector actors, and development partners.
The attached “Call for Chapters for Case Analysis” together with a template provides detailed information on how to submit your case analysis.
All contributions should be sent by e-mail to Yuki Matsuoka (matsuoka@un.org), Nick Ramos (nicholasjoseph.ramos@un.org), and cc UNDRR Kobe Office (undrr-japan@un.org) by 25th November 2025.
We look forward to receiving your contributions.
