Special Lecture at Miyagi Tagajo High School

Did you know that there is a high school in Miyagi Prefecture that has a "Disaster Science Department"?
Tagajo High School in Miyagi Prefecture is one of only two high schools in Japan with a department specializing in disaster risk reduction, where high school students study disaster prevention in a professional manner.
Yuichi Ono, Representative of the World BOSAI Forum, gave a special lecture to first-year students of the Disaster Science Department on Tuesday, September 27.
The students read the annual White Paper on Disaster Risk Reduction published by the Cabinet Office, considered disaster risk reduction measures as policy makers, and engaged in lively discussions and team presentation competitions.
