Outline
Students in the WISE for SyDE (Sustainability in the Dynamic Earth) program at Tohoku University are taking on the challenge of implementing disaster risk reduction in society across all over Japan. Japan faces risks from not only climate change, earthquakes, and volcanic activity, but also pandemic-related threats recently. For these diverse risks, the project primarily focuses on outreach activities. Through extensive collaboration, the initiative seeks to promote the development of mutual assistance and public support fostered from self-help, as well as establish a supportive cycle. In this forum, as a precursor to broader action, we will introduce the project's objectives, an overview of its approach, and future plans.
