Outline

Can our cultural heritage become a resource of local communities for DRR? How to leverage on it for enhancing community resilience?
These are premises of RESILIAGE project, a running three-year research innovation action funded by the European Horizon Europe program. With 18 partners of 10 countries from EU and beyond, including first responders, public authorities, citizen associations, geoparks, universities and research centers, SME and policy makers such as UNESCO, the project, coordinated by the author, is focusing on community resilience for enhancing it through cultural natural heritage.

Cultural, historical and psychological factors are relevant aspects of human behaviours to be related to long-lasting human-environment interactions that have shaped landscapes and heritage. Together with socio-demographic, economic, environmental factors, they help to identify and improve societal resilience’ drivers. RESILIAGE define them as systemic innovation frameworks, namely: social interaction and inclusiveness, adaptive governance, health and wellbeing, active memory and socio-economic resilience. It aims to support locals via indicators, enhanced preparedness plans, the digital Resource ecosystem for community resilience, and policies.

The poster highlights some aspects of co-creative shaping of digital tools and soft solutions in 5 endangered sites affected by natural hazards and climate change related issues that constitute the Community Resilience labs.
