Overview

Science and technology play an important role to play in reducing disaster risk, but there still are knowledge gaps that need to be filled, such as in local knowledge transfer to reduce risk and build resilience. Building on the global report "A Global Outlook on Disaster Science" to be premiered at the World Bosai Forum, the session will present the main findings of the report and have global experts discuss the priorities of science moving from the Hyogo framework to the Sendai framework for disaster risk reduction.
