自然災害は頻度とその激しさを増し、災害リスクはアジア・太平洋地域におけるレジリエンスを上回りつつある。“The Asia-Pacific Disaster Report 2017” によると、災害に備える、あるいは対応する最低限のキャパシティを持つ国々には大きな災害被害がもたらされる。これに関して、本セッションでは、高リスク・低キャパシティである国々において、特定の脆弱性や災害リスクに晒されることを考慮したマルチ・ハザード・リスクのアセスメントを行える能力を強化することを狙いとする。セッションは、ナレッジと情報の格差を取り上げ、高リスク・低キャパシティである国々のマルチ・ハザード・リスク・アセスメントの能力を強化することを目指す。
